Le piece de résistance. The final day of 7 Days of Valentine’s.
This was the idea I came across, but got frustrated trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to do and how to fit it together. I try to do things a little differently, but happily accept inspiration from just about anything…
I wanted to tell him that he does indeed complete me. Not in the way that I’m not a whole person, I guess, but more that he complements me perfectly. If you’ve ever been in love or wanted to be in love, you know the feeling when it seems like something is missing. Then I met him.
On the surface, you tend to think that finding that special someone is the end-all-to-be-all. But no one person can truly complete you. You first have to be whole yourself and love yourself before you can truly love another. And if you’re a spiritual person like myself, you know that it doesn’t truly end or begin with another earthly person…
Being with my husband, I know what true love is. He has always put me first and has loved me truly. It was no issue for me to take 7 extra days to show how much I love and appreciate him. We have a 3 strand marriage and know that having God as the head of our lives is what’s the most important. We stumble as humans do, but the true agape love that we have for each other and others in the world is what counts.
If you don’t understand how to fit agape love into a marriage, it’s like this: when you can’t stand each other as spouses, you still love each other as friends. And for as much as we have married people love for each other, there are times when the agape love kicks in lol
So on Day 7, I wanted to let him know how much he means to me and how truly happy and blessed I am to be his wife.
And just as a DIY FYI (oh, acronyms…) I made this gift by
- Printing out a puzzle background and one of our wedding photos,
- Free-handing the puzzle piece onto our photo and used a little patient scissor skills to trim it, and
- Used homemade ModPodge to fix the picture to that little piece of super cardboard that comes in the back of a picture frame and trimmed it again.
Easy peasy 🙂
