Night 3 brings us back to Bleu at the Westin Beale. This locale holds a special place in our hearts because we were here almost 4 years ago to the day planning our wedding.
I love salads. I actually crave them. You’d think that I would be skinnier than I am but, nope, I really like fried stuff about the same. I had fried stuff for lunch, so I had to start this meal with a spinach and Brie salad, sprinkled with toasted almonds and drizzled with a champagne vinaigrette.
I don’t know what spices they used but it was sufficient to make my sinuses busy. It was one of those situations I put myself in where it’s so spicy that I know I shouldn’t eat it, but it’s so good that I just can’t stop. My lips may have been on fire a bit, but it was totally worth it.
Finishing off the meal, we each had Bourbon bundt cake with cinammon ice cream and garnished with a strawberry.
This was definitely the richest meal thus far and was so good. I miss Bleu. It’s nostalgic that we were here a week ahead of our anniversary and at a time when we’re planning a vow renewal for the 5th year of wedded bliss. A great night, first-class atmosphere and dinner with a true love. It’s some of the best that the town of the Bleu suede shoes has to offer 🙂
