This post is a #sponsored review of a hot new playground for families and adults in the M-10 called Main Event.
All opinions and experiences are my own.
Yes, I’m a daredevil in real life. #EatBowlPlay
For months, I’ve been driving past this spot just off the highway and wondering what they were building. When the sign went up, I thought heck yeah…I can’t wait to get in there and get my big kid on!!
The Main Event – Memphis location officially opened on 12/11 at 11 am. This weekend, the hubby and I finally got to go in and experience it for ourselves. Armed with a gift certificate to get into everything possible, we took it upon ourselves to try as much fun stuff as we could.
I checked out the website to see what was available and was super excited that among the many games and activities, there was going to be a gravity ropes station. Never mind that I almost broke my thumb the night before, it was going down! That’s another story and totally my fault…
The gravity ropes course is about 20′ off the ground, much closer to solid footing than the course over at Bridges, so I didn’t have any fear doing my personal impersonation of a tightrope walker.
So, there are different costs associated with the games and different stations. Most of the video games are a set price, from $1.50 – 3.00, but with this station you have to pay tax on it. It’s $8.74 and you have to get the ticket at the Winners Choice station; you need to purchase a ticket for the laser tag there as well. The adventure happens every 20 min, so when you pay, you will wait to join the next group to go up. There are about 8 different paths you can take; I braved all of them except one. Even I have my limits…
Two activities that we didn’t get to try were bowling and laser tag. I was a little too excited about this station on the front counter that helps you in selecting the right size bowling ball. It doesn’t take much to excite me lol
The seating area is lounge style so that everyone can sit around tables and enjoy their food and drinks as they wait their turn to bowl. I was seriously most fascinated with the shoe cubby holes underneath the seats. Very neat and organized!
I have to say that I’m usually pretty laid back and not a sore loser with most games that I play. Laser tag is not on that list. I go full Call of Duty when I’m in there. The laser tag arena at Main Event is multi-level and will definitely give you a good workout. No holes barred, son…
Maybe on the next round (there WILL be a next round!) we’ll get to do that, but we on this trip, we next headed over to the video games. There are 111 different gaming stations and they have lots of my faves…Pac Man, Fruit Ninja, Skeeball, basketball, even air hockey! I have to admit, I’m pretty competitive on this one too… It’s $1.50 for the game, but you get 3 rounds. We were confused as to why the air didn’t go off after I kicked his butt the first time. A lot of people around us were playing and leaving, so I told folks who came behind us to make sure they played all the rounds.

Ok, so this one. When I went before, there were some other people playing this game. They were in there screaming and I was laughing hysterically at their over-reacting. Dark Escape is indeed a 4D game. You can select the 3D version with the glasses. Which means the zombies will be righthereinyourface and you will be terrified. The guns vibrate, the seats shake and when the zombie breathes on you, you will feel it!
On the inside, there was this…
See how terrifying this is?!? It’s worse when you’re wearing 3D glasses. When it happened to me, I screamed and my body IMMEDIATELY went into flight mode. The biggest problem is that there was a huge metal gun in my lap. Just in case you were wondering, metal is much harder than flesh and will win every time. At this point, I just closed my eyes and every time someone screamed in the game, I just started shooting…
Ibuprofen was my best friend Saturday night…
They also have a HUGE Connect 4 wall! This was actually pretty cool and we played a couple of games here. One of the simplest games in the world, but so much fun!
After we played games, we went to cash in on all of the tickets that we’d won!
After all the running around and calorie-burning, you’re definitely going to need to refuel and they’ve got you covered there too! A full restaurant with kid and adult beverages, a pizza joint and full service bar. Hey, it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere…
The pizza bar is called La Bella’s and in true Italian style, there was a delicious gelato bar.
We ate at the bar in the main dining area. The macaroni and cheese dish came highly recommended, but we made sure to try a little bit of everything.!
Before we ordered food, we had to satiate our thirsts a bit… I ordered the Main Event Breeze, which is the signature cocktail. Again with the coconut rum that I swear I hate, this was sooo good! You definitely have to try this one!
First up, the BBQ Brisket Street Tacos! Watch out for the jalapeño peppers…I didn’t know they were there and the made their presence known! They are delicious and come served with fried pickles…Main Event takes them to another level!
Our main entree was the Skillet Mac & Cheese. My friend had it and said she blew her entire carb allowance on it with no regrets at all! It’s not your everyday macaroni dish; it’s got bacon and chicken hidden inside. Even the house salad was amazing!
For dessert, we enjoyed Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes with both a salted caramel and raspberry dipping sauce. Good thing that it came with the 2 different choices because we have different tastes lol They came in the cutest mini deep fryer that I’ve ever seen!
And as a plus for fun loving business people and entrepreneurs, they even have meeting rooms! Can you imagine the office party you’d have here?! Well if you’re interested, they have space available, so call the office at 901-372-5000. Planning a party for an child and their super active friends? Bring ’em right over! Adults can celebrate here too! Just contact them for more information on the packages they offer. And to take away some of the planning stress, they’ll even hook you up with invitations to pass out + email!
All in all, we had a blast! And you can too!
If you made it through this post, then you’re ahead of the game and already in the running!
