Grill season is here, y’all! This post has been compensated in the form of a product for review by HomeRight. All experiences, sheer fascination and opinions are my own.
Ok, so summer is here and we’re getting out into the back yard and doing some delicious damage on the grill! Did you catch my recipes for the first picnic that we had of the season? I’m seriously still hungry every time I think about it…
We got our food ready on a charcoal grill. I know what you’re thinking…charcoal grills are so 2014, but they make stuff like this:
So here’s the thing. Trying to convince me to convert to a cleaner-burning propane grill is like trying to tell The Temptations they don’t have sunshine on a cloudy day. Not gonna happen, cap’n. I’m absolutely convinced that the propane tank is gonna blow up and I won’t get to take my chicken and burgers to Heaven with me. So over here, it’s charcoal fo’ life!
But all of the discussion aside, we got this nifty fire starter to try out and see how much we like it.
Um, yeah…I like it.
It took us about a minute to figure out how far to hold it away from the coals. It works by super heating them and make them combust from the inside out. It’s truly very easy to use though! Just plug it in and hold the trigger.
I will admit I was tempted to put my hand near the end to see if it was actually working. I resisted the urge. DO NOT TOUCH! It’s really hot down there… Don’t be Homer.
I wonder if the caveman felt this excited the first time he lit it up? Were he and his buddies sitting around going “ooooh” and “aaaah” like I did? Were they as mesmerized by the flame coming from the middle of the kindling pile? It really doesn’t take much to amuse me and I was really way to excited about this little spark…
The HomeRight ElectroLight Fire Starter is a pretty simple too, but I felt like a revolutionary using it! My hubby got to do the honors and I watched, remarking at how neat it was! He just laughed at me and told me not to put my face too close to the fire. I was just drawn in to the flame…
I’m so excited about this and am glad that we upgraded to a larger grill because, this summer, it’s on! If you’re like me and still working with the coal nuggets, this is definitely a worthy investment. Read more about it online and grab one directly from the HomeRight site or even here.
What are you gonna throw on the grill this summer? More importantly, can I get a plate?
